The newest addition to our Funeral Directing staff, David Browne has enjoyed a long and varied career. Before joining the Funeral Industry, David was a very successful entrepreneur, building companies in various industries. While operating an executive car hire company, David began to come into contact with the Funeral Industry and quickly realised that his client focussed attitude and personal motto ‘Only the best will do’ were skills that were highly sought after within the funeral sector.

In 2016, David was afforded the opportunity to move into the Funeral Profession, adapting efficiently to his new career, his care, compassion and consideration meant it wasn’t long before he was conducting funerals and eventually took up the role of Funeral Director within a large Multi-National Funeral Company.

Moving to Ronnie Thompson Funeral Directors in July 2025 has allowed David to become more involved with families as he guides them through their bereavement step by step. From the first phone call right through to the selection of a suitable lasting memorial, being engaged with families allows David to follow his passion of caring for others.

David is a dedicated family man, married to Phyllis since 1980, with 3 children and 7 grandchildren. Originally from Bangor, but with strong family ties to the Lisburn area, David is quickly getting to know the people of Lisburn with his friendly, outgoing demeanour. With his strong Christian faith at the heart of all he does, David currently serves as an Elder in Foundation Church in Belfast.
